Diet myths and untruths


East less and exercise more is a common saying regarding weight loss. 

When you do this it develops into a vicious cycle. The important thing to remember is not to attempt to lose weight quickly. When you don't eat enough your body's metabolism slows down and  gets signals that it does not have to work as hard to digest any food that you've eaten. However, when zthis happens and you get hungry because you have no eaten enough and decide to eat a large portion for your next meal, your metabolic enzymes cut back with the digestive juices, a lot of what you eat at that meal is not properly digested and ends up creating fat and adding weight.
If you want to lose weight, you must do it slowly and not attempt to follow the crowd and lose 8 or 10 lbs. in your first couple of weeks of working on weight loss. The way to lose weight is to eat small portions regularly and to eat the right foods. When you are sitting down to a meal, eat only what you need to eat to feel satisfied and then stop. Don't pile a lot of food on your plate to begin with, It's a psychological move. Most people, if you put a lot to eat on the plate will eat everything on it just because i't there in front of them. Again, eat only enough to satisfy your hunger and then quit eating,
Don't eat while you're watching TV, reading a book or any activity where you snack during the activity. Eat enough at the table to curb your hunger before you take on any of these activities. If you are intending to retire for the night at 11 PM, eat your last meal at least 2 hours before you go to bed. Get away from eating canned food, dairy products, soda, candy and frozen prepared meals as best as you can, Also, if you have a bathroom scale, put it away, Watching your weigh can lead to anxiety and cause you to start gulping the food. Make sure you take the time a few days a week to walk or ride a bike or whatever you do for exercise. If you stay on this regimen, you will slowly take of the weight. Don't give up, it will happen.
